「但願人長久」の英訳

　２〜３日前に、年賀ビデオに使った「但願人長久」の和訳を書き換えましたが、せっかくならば英訳の字幕（今回はハードサブではなくYouTubeのCCで）を加えてみることにしました。
　そもそも、「但願人長久」の中国語が分からない上、解釈をしているあちこちのサイト（もちろん日本語）の説明・解釈もかなり異なります。
　従って、英訳も迷います。そんな中で、まあまあ、私の解釈（自己の力で元の「詞」を読み取ったのではなく、解釈サイトを読み比べて、これが適当だと思ったとういこと）に近い英語字幕の付いている「但願人長久」の動画を見つけました。

　そもそも、この最初の表示が面白く思いました。
　「Happy Mid-Autum to all my friends and relatives」
確かに詞の内容が中秋の名月なのですから、年賀ビデオにふさわしくはありません。それは分かっていました。でも、年賀ビデオにふさわしい、テレサ・テンの歌なんでありません。「長久」を年賀にこじつけたわけです。
　そして英訳です。

　最初の１行で、すでに「名訳」と思いました。私の「解釈」に近いし、すっきりとした１行にまとめてあったからです。
　そこでこの英訳をまるまる使わせてもらおうかとも思ったのですが、やっぱり私の（借り物）「解釈」とは違う部分が多々あったので、かなり書き換えることになりました。中国語だからなのか、中国語の詞（詩）だからなのか分かりませんが、あんなに少ない文字数で表現するので、どうしても解釈も違ってしまうのでしょう。不思議な言語です。

May we all be Blessed with Longevity
When did the moon turn clear and bright?
With a cup of wine in my hand, I ask the blue sky.
In the heavens on this night,
I wonder what year it would be?
I'd like to ride the wind to fly home in heaven.
Yet I fear the crystal and jade mansions
are much too high and cold for me.
Dancing with my moonlit shadow on the ground,
It does not seem like the human world.
The moon rounds the red mansion,
Stoops throught the ornamented window,
Shines upon us, who are drinking sleeplessly
Having no grudges against the moon
I wonder why it tends to be full when you and I are apart?
People have sorrow and joy, encounter and separate,
The moon gets dim and bright, waxing and waning,
This imperfection has been going on since the beginning of time.
May we all be blessed with longevity,
Though thousand miles apart,
we can share the beauty of the moon together.
